Deep Purple

This is the color of emperors, of power and might. As might be imagined, there are overtones of arrogance and superiority about deep purple, as well as a fair degree of ruthlessness.

"We are not sleeping in a bed with purple sheets," argued Legolas.

Elodien frowned. "Wherever did you find purple sheets?"

"What does it matter? Why won't you sleep in it? What's wrong with purple?" each of Haldir's questions was slightly more indignant than the last. "I like purple."

"We know," answered the other two in one voice.

"When the lights are out, you won't know what color they are," reasoned Haldir as he pulled off his shirt.

"I still can't believe you found purple sheets," Elodien said.

"What in bloody blazes is wrong with purple sheets?" insisted Haldir.

Legolas sighed. "For starters, they're purple."

"Turn around," commanded Haldir. "Both of you," he added as he walked to the bed. A few moments later he bid them to look back. "Well? Now what do you think?" he asked as he looked over his shoulder from where he was knelt on the bed.

"Oooo… pretty…" teased Elodien, closing in on one side.

Legolas shrugged. "So you look good with purple when you're bare."

"Yes, I know," drawled Haldir as he winked.

This is the color of… arrogance.
