I'm...I'm flying! Just like Tygra! Erm, okay, maybe I'm not flying that high...Name: Wily Kat

Race: Thunderian [Some say mixed breed, and some say wildcat.  When I think in terms of canon, I tend to go with wildcat, even though many of those who had a hand in the writing of the show said that the Thunderkittens were small housecat types.  In my fanon universe, their parents consist of a half breed father (half lion and half puma), and a mother of bobcat origin.]

Occupation: ThunderCat Warrior-in-Training [Although referred to as a ThunderCat, just as his sister is, neither has set out along a definate path (eg., Panthro is the mechanic, Pumyra is the healer, etc.).  Because of this, the fact that the weapons they carry are more for defensive purposes than to be used to attack, and the accursed age and height issues, they seem to be young adults apprenticing to be ThunderCats.]

Lion-o trying to defeat one of the aforementioned pellet monsters. [Anointment Trials - Trial of Cunning]Weapon: Each of the Thunderkittens has a lariet, kept looped at their side on a belt.  [Wilykat's belt is made up of various pouches which can contain numerous substances and powders.  Both kittens also carry with them pellets which can do any number of things - explode, release gaseous clouds, turn into a million tiny, round pebbles, or even a prehistoric balloon creature.  Some of the pellets are set off by an impact, while others need water to create the desired effect, which can be an issue in a heated battle.]

He seems to have lost a sister, but he's gained a shield!Special Abilities: The Thunderkittens are meant to be the cunning and clever duo, playing pranks on villains and fellow ThunderCats alike.  They are also mischievous, due to their age, or lack there of.  Although Lion-o managed to age (or at the very least, get taller and more muscular), Wilykat emerged the same height as on Thundera, and with no more facial hair than he already had.  Panthro did build each of the kittens a recreational vehicle when they reached Third Earth - a spaceboard.  Wilykat proved that, although he could usually keep balance a fair amount of the time, it wasn't his strong suit, and cats do not always land on their feet.

Love Interests:  I know what you're thinking.  Okay, I really don't...but Cheetara does!  Anyhow, by now, you've begun to wonder what exactly I was going to fill in for this section.  Or perhaps you scrolled down here first.  No matter, I will attempt to keep some amount of dignity on this page.

Wilykat, as a cub, was obviously not making passes at anyone on a children's show.  I mean, they got away with nudity on the pilot, and drug addition resulting from too much fruit (you wouldn't believe the number of kids in my first grade class that wouldn't eat apples at lunch for fear they'd be like Tygra) - they weren't going to pull a third doozey without someone noticing.  Wilykat, as an adult, is another story, and of course, Wilykat fantasizing is fair game, too.

Did Wilykat have fantasies of Cheetara, Warrior Maidens, or Chilla?  Probably - come on, this is a maturing cub, stuck on a planet that isn't his home world, with very few of his kin around.  I couldn't even fathom a guess at which would have  been his favorite choice - it isn't something teenage boys usually go around gloating about except with other teenage boys or on the walls of bathroom stalls.  Since any messages at the community litter box were bound to be read by Panthro or Tygra, it's doubtful that Wilykat shared any information with anyone.  As to his future pursuits, there is very little to go on, but I would hedge my bets that on a planet being repopulated, he'll eventually run into someone down the road.  If all else fails, it won't be long until Leah grows up, and then - hey, wait, there's a story there somewhere!

He's smiling now...but wait until he finds out that Cartoon Network cut the show again.Episodes of Interest:  The Tower of Traps is a great Thunderkittens episode to watch.  There's also Anointment Trial Third Day - Trial of Cunning, and  though most will advise against it, everyone should see The Circus Train at least once for the classic story of the boy who feels neglected and runs off to join the circus, not only to see Wilykat as a real dummy, but because he isn't being overpowered by his sister's personality.

Catch Phrase & Quotes:

"This cage suddenly came down on top of me, and the next thing I knew, I was a chandelier."
-trying to be funny while stating the obvious in "The Tower of Traps."

Lair duty is boring enough...but just think how much more boring it would be if your sister never let you touch anything.Final Thoughts:  Wilykat always seemed a bit on the timid side.  His sister is very forward in her approaches to things, and is the bolder of the two.  This causes Wilykat to follow along oftentimes, even when he wouldn't if left to his own devices.  Without the help of his sister, Wilykat may not have had a chance as a character, as he would likely have not been very adventurous by himself.  Then again, this guy wore a dressy tunic thing - that couldn't have done much for his self image.  You have to wonder what his feelings towards Jaga were for that one.  At least he wasn't stuck in pastels like Tygra.
