Name: Lady Zu, also known as Duchess Lucrezia
Previous Middle Earth writings: None (except a ficcy of a dream I once had... hasn't been made public though :)
Other previous writings: 4 Original Scripts for anime-like series (not made public), poetry, and a long fictional Diary (of a person in the 1500s)
Future projects: The next group fic for the HL group...
Favorite Middle Earth characters: Haldir, Celeborn, Elrond, Elladan, Elrohir, Glorfindel, Gildor Inglorion, Thranduil, Cirdan, Celebrimbor, Eomer, Faramir, Boromir, Prince Imrahil, Beregond, Maglor, Manwe...
Motivation for doing this project: I thought it would be a short, fun story, and it would give me a chance to try out writing a fanfic (I've never written a fanfic before...just read them). I had no idea it would turn out as large and complex as it did. It was so much fun to write and to get to know the other girls writing for the story.
True feelings about Valentine's day: I hate it... My hate for it started back in middle school, when students around me wandered the halls with bouquets of roses or carnations, cards, candy, gifts, etc. I don't think I've ever gotten one flower from anyone on V-Day (or any other holiday for that matter...), and I wanted one really badly... It only got worse in high school, when the "popular" crowd would walk around all day carrying GARDENS of flowers (so many that they had to have friends carry their book and stuff!!)... Well, in my last few years of high school (and in college), I decided to silently protest by wearing as much black as I possibly could (my friends did it too). So, yeah, I hate V-Day...
You're stranded on a desert island and can only take one thing and three elves with you. What is it, who are they, and why?: Only one thing (other than the clothes on my back, I assume...)? Um, I think I'd have to bring a really big jug of drinkable water... After all, I'm sure I could find something to eat on the island, and I wouldn't want to drink salt water... I can pick three Elves, huh? Well, I'd bring...Haldir (because he's a great archer so he could hunt and prepare the food, and could probably built a flet for us to live in ^^), Erestor (so he could tell stories, make up poetry, or sing for us, to keep us from getting too bored), and Thranduil... Why Thranduil? Do I need to explain myself? *wicked grin*
Favorite descriptive word to use when talking about elves: Shiny... (don't ask ^^)
Favorite famous elf quote: "Kinsman, farewell! May your doom be other than mine, and your treasure remain with you to the end." (said by Celeborn to King Elessar at their parting)
Favorite famous 19th century philosopher quote: Um, I don't know any... Sorry! I'm more of a 16th century person...
If you were making a pie to share with the elves, what kind would it be?: My version of a chocolate mouse pie -- a chocolate-chip pie crust, a thick layer of the chocolate mouse at the bottom, another layer of vanilla pudding, a thin layer of chocolate whipped cream with caramel sauce drizzled over the top, sprinkled with white and dark chocolate shavings, and mini chocolate chips! I think the Elves would enjoy this just as much as I would.
Favorite Beatles song: Um...they frighten me... Can I pick something else? My fav song (for the past several years) is "All Cried Out" by Allure...
Anything else we should know?: I can be rather serious, frustrated, or bored often, but I'm really rather hyper (not excessively), corrupted (by Renaissance Faires, anime, and LOTR), and fun to talk to *innocent smile*
Character Name: Lady Zu
Physical description: Zu's slightly wavy hair reaches down to mid-thigh length (the roots are dark brown/black, and from ear-level downward, the color changes from medium brown to copper, bronze, and golden at the ends); bronze eyes; slightly tanned skin; she is in her mid twenties, is about 5'3", and has a very slender (and well-proportioned) figure.
Homeland: Born in Dol Amroth; tends to wander from place to place (especially through Minas Tirith, Edoras, and Lothlorien)
Occupation or purpose in Middle Earth: Lady Zu is one of the wealthy, noble-born ladies of Dol Amroth. She is almost a quarter Elf, but she is not immortal. She assists with negotiations between Dol Amroth, the rest of Gondor, and Rohan. She visits Lorien on occasion to relax in the woodland around the borders, which is how she met Haldir (and has since become fascinated with the Elves and their culture). She enjoys writing poetry, drawing and painting, sewing (embroidery), and on rare occasions, singing. She also does some trading with the Lorien Elves (which is how she acquires some of the fancy fabrics and mithril for her garb).
Secret way the character wishes they could have sought their revenge against Elrond: Public humiliation, as revenge for the scene she caused when she tried to escape Rivendell. She becomes rather upset if she is mistreated, and this can result in plotting against others...
Anything else we should know?: Zu usually wears garb made of the finest fabrics, trims, and jewels that she can attain (she is quite fond of mithril, and uses it any time she can), but for this story, she always wears black.
